Happy Smiley Face Birthday

THE ONE MAN CLEAN UP CREW

Tonight we celebrated Alex's 9th Birthday with a quick party after Ness picked the kids up from "The California Exchange". I started off the day making my list of what I needed to get at the store for the party later tonight until I got a call from Vannessa saying they would be here at 2pm so I had to scratch the shopping idea and make due with what I had. I did a quick scavenger hunt through the house for any and all party and cake supplies. It's amazing what you can find in the house when your in a pinch. So out of what I found I did a primary color scheme with a Smiley Face cake and decorated the table with candy. When in doubt give them candy, they'll be on such a sugar high they won't notice nothing matches.

Luckily they were running late so I was able to get everything done. When Ness saw the cake she said "Oh my gosh how did you know he loves Smiley Face's" and I was like of course I know he loves smiley faces. (I honestly had no clue I totally lucked out.lol) When it was all said and done Alex was happy and that's all that mattered. Happy Birthday Alex, we love you! video
The video is a little fuzzy because the kids were playing with the camera and put their dirty fingers all over the lens, crazy kids.

Kiana's Birthday Dinner With The Pope

Last week we went to Buca's(The best Italian Food)for Kiana's Golden 25th Birthday. This was my first time there so I didn't know what to expect and can I just say the food was fabulous. So we were seated in "The Pope" room and it was as gaudy as they come, I loved it. There was a dome ceiling complete with painted chubby cherubs, pictures and shrines of the Pope everywhere and best of all a bust of the Pope smack dab in the middle of the table. Does it get any better. We had a lot of fun talking, laughing, singing and eating. Can't wait to do it again! video

I've been thinking about Uncle Bud and thought I would re-post the funeral pictures. His 1 year anniversary was on a few days ago so I thought it would be appropriate.

Though we didn't get to see Uncle Bud on a regular basis it was always exciting when we knew he was coming to the next family event. The last event I saw him at was Wabby's 1st Birthday that April. When he arrived it might as well have been the President because everyone was so happy to see him and he was happy to see all of us. He just had a way of making everyone around him happy. We love you Uncle Bud.

Celebration With Friends and Family

We just got back from Utah and what a great time we had. We celebrated the High School Graduations of Ella and Xavier, celebrated Hayley's 16th Birthday, Celebrated Rylan's Baptism and Xavier's Ordination.

Thursday Ella graduated in the morning but we weren't able to make it til the end for pictures because Kevin is still recovering. Later that night was the big party for Ella & X. They had the best food and desserts ever. I think I gained 10lbs from that day alone. The entertainment was great and the best was when the kids jumper tipped over. Luckily no one was hurt but I was bound to happen when you have 50 kids all trying to get on. We were able to see alot of friends & family we haven't seen in a while. We even got to have a mini Kalama reunion with Maile, Malia & Dave and Lauaki & Marylani.

Friday night Xavier graduated so we did another drive-by picture moment. Afterward we went to dinner and celebrated Hayley's Sweet Sixteen. I can't believe she's already 16 I remember going to her 4th Birthday party when Kevin and I were engaged.

Saturday morning was Rylan's Baptism and what a turn out he had. He was baptized by Xavier and confirmed by Kevin, Candida and Kevin's Mom gave the talks on Baptism and The Holy Ghost, Shanice lead the music and Ella & Lisa gave prayers. It's always so nice when the whole family can participate.

Sunday we finally check out of the hotel and went to church with Ifi & Candida because Xavier was being ordained to an Elder. Unfortunately I was stuck in the car with a sick Mr. Leo who after a quick stop to the store for medicine and a Redbox movie he quickly recovered. We had a nice lunch with all the family after church then said our tearful goodbyes and hit the road. This was a really great trip for all of us.

- A COUPLE OF HIGHLIGHTS -
- Silly string fight with the Siufanua kidlets.
- Leo getting to go swimming with his cousins.
- The original Pink Cookie.
- Witnessing how spoiled Mr. Leo is around the girls, so cute.
- Getting to see friends and family we haven't seen in a really long time.
- Talking to Maile, that girl is crazy fun.
- This conversation with Leo. Background - We are eating dinner at Sarah's house and she made the best BBQ Pork Chops & Rice. Leo: "MORE CHICKEN PLEASE" Me: WOW YOU ALREADY ATE ALL YOUR FOOD." Leo: "YEP" Me: "ISN'T AUNTY SARAH A GOOD COOK?" Leo: YEP, AND YOUR A GOOD CEREAL COOK AUNTY KAY."
After all the food I make this kid the best he comes up with is "Your the best cereal cook" Gotta love him.
